Evidence Vocabulary

Evidence supports or challenges a claim. A claim expresses a proposition. An observation records what an observation point detected. A source identifies origin and control domain. Freshness captures temporal validity. Confidence qualifies inference, not truth. Correlation relates observations. Verification independently evaluates support. Revocation withdraws prior validity. Conflict preserves disagreement.

Correlation States

Independent Claims

Authentication does not automatically prove delegated authority. Identity does not automatically prove intent. A request does not automatically prove execution. Execution does not automatically prove outcome.

Time and Change

Temporal validity matters. Evidence can strengthen or weaken over time. Revocation and staleness update current state while preserving historical observations.

Conflict

Conflicting trusted evidence remains visible. APP does not collapse distinct evidence dimensions into one arbitrary trust score.

A credential can be VERIFIED while delegated authority remains UNRESOLVED. Later evidence may verify a limit, or a revocation may invalidate previously sufficient authority.
